HUNTLEIGH GM BUD CARTER CELEBRATES 90th BIRTHDAY

Friday December 12, 2008, Huntleigh USA's Oklahoma City Manager, Bud Carter, was invited to the corporate offices to celebrate his 90th birthday.

The celebration was complete with a luncheon and a spectacular birthday cake. (There were NOT 90 candles due to fire regulations! ;-) instead there was a nice number 90 candle for Bud to wish upon.)

Bud's life has been marked by many interesting events such as the time in 1950 when he served in Washington, D.C. as the Administrative Assistant to Congressman John Jarman. It was later in this same year that Bud was the first black person appointed to the US Capital Police Force. There have been no such appointments since.

Bud came to Huntleigh as a screener in 1996. Due to his excellent service and work ethic, Bud was progressively promoted to checkpoint supervisor, then Assistant Manager, and then became General Manager at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) for Huntleigh USA in 2002 after the TSA assumed responsibility for checkpoint passenger screening. 

The entire corporate staff enjoyed their time celebrating with Bud as he relayed some of his unique life's history.
